Common questions
How do I start a game?
Choose a scorecard, add the players and check the rules. You can enter several names at once, separated by commas, or reuse saved players and groups. Tap Start game when the table is ready. Simple Score works for games without a dedicated scorecard.
Can I pause or finish early?
Yes. Scores and unfinished entries save on this device as you go. Return to the library and open the game to continue. To end a game with the current standings, open Game actions and choose Finish game.
How do I correct a score?
Open the scorecard and select the hand you want to change. Save your correction to recalculate the totals. Game actions also offers Undo last entry. An unfinished entry can be changed before you save it.
Where are my favourite games?
Press and hold a scorecard in the library to add it to favourites. You can also choose Favourite games in Settings and tap the games you play most. Starred scorecards appear first.
Can the app add up my cards?
Open a player’s points and tap Add remaining cards. Yaniv, Gin Rummy and Five Crowns have card buttons with values for the current game. Tap each remaining card; Undo last card fixes a mistap. For Gin Rummy, count only deadwood after permitted layoffs.
How does photo counting work?
Mexican Train and Simple Score can count visible domino or dice pips from a photo. Yahtzee can read five dice. Use a clear photo taken from above, with the pieces flat and separated on a plain surface. Review and correct the result before applying it. For Mexican Train, enter double blanks separately when your rules give them a penalty. Photos are processed on your device and are not retained by the app.
If camera access is off, Camera settings opens the permission setting. You can also choose an existing photo or enter points by hand.
How do I move or back up my scores?
In Settings, choose Back up scores and save the file in Files, iCloud Drive or another location you choose. On the other device, choose Import backup and select that file. Review the number of games to add, then confirm. Imports add missing games, players and groups; a game already saved on the destination device keeps its current scores. There is no automatic sync. Keep a separate backup before deleting the app.
How do I delete a game?
Open My games, swipe left on a game and tap Delete. This works for unfinished and completed games. Deleting a game does not reset the free-game allowance.
What is free, and what does the purchase unlock?
You can score one complete game free using any scorecard. One purchase unlocks unlimited games and all 13 scorecards. There is no subscription. Previously saved games remain available after the free game. The app shows the price for your App Store region before you purchase.
I paid before. How do I restore the purchase?
Use the Apple Account that made the purchase, connect to the internet and choose Restore purchase in Settings. This restores the unlock, not saved scores. Transfer scores separately with a backup. If a purchase is awaiting approval, the unlock becomes available when Apple approves it.
Our house rules are different. Can I change them?
Check the rule options before starting each game. Scoring rules are also available from Game actions during play. If your variant is missing, email us the game and how your table scores it.
