Privacy policy

Your scores stay on your device. Pip & Pencil has no account system, advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not send your games or photos to us.

Saved games

Player names, groups, favourites, game rules, scores and unfinished entries are stored in the app’s files on your device. The app also stores whether the free game has been used. We do not operate a server for this information.

You can delete saved games in the app. Removing the app removes its local data, subject to your device’s backup settings. A backup you exported or kept with a storage provider is separate and must be deleted there.

Photos and camera access

The camera is used only when you choose to photograph dominoes or dice. You may instead select a photo through Apple’s photo picker. Pip counting runs on your device. The app does not upload the photo, add it to your photo library or retain it in a saved game. Only the score you confirm is saved. A photo you selected from your library stays in that library.

Backups and sharing

When you export a backup or share a scorecard, you choose the destination using the system’s controls. Backup files contain player names and game history. Anyone you give the file to may be able to read them. If you choose iCloud Drive or another service, that provider’s terms and privacy policy apply. The app does not automatically sync games between devices.

Purchases

Apple handles payments. The app uses StoreKit to check whether your Apple Account owns the all-games unlock and to restore eligible purchases. We do not receive your payment-card details. Apple processes purchase and account information under its own privacy policy.

Support and this website

If you email support, we receive your email address and anything you include. We use that information to respond and troubleshoot. Please send only the scores, screenshots or other details needed for your question.

This support website uses Cloudflare Pages. The hosting provider may process connection information such as your IP address and technical request logs to deliver and protect the site. The site has no analytics scripts, advertising or contact form.
